The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it has some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base also has a number of control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but the mopping pad doesn't get washed or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a huge contrast to the basic black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxy units.
