Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For example, you can decide to let the robot clean up the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that the robot tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has accomplished, where it's traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that need to be done like emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time, with the mop capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is capable of running for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and is easy to comprehend however we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean around them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock and a home-button that can take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-filling.
robot vacuum cleaners reviews discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power, and advanced mowing abilities. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without using a pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under low-profile furnishings which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice addition that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with the frequent back-and-forth movement.
In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is intuitive and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has many characteristics that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.
The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a useful way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning process, and there are numerous features that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white colors that is elegant and stylish. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels robust and well built. Mopping is well-designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
